Who to Contact
The mission of the Cape Ann Climate Resilience Collaborative (CACRC) is to enhance the capacity of Cape Ann communities to respond to the increasing challenges of climate change through collaborative research, outreach, and education.
The power in this collaboration rests in the harnessing of local engagement and knowledge with external expertise in science and in models of both incremental and transformative practices from around the world.
The CACRC is a loose-knit partnership of non-profit organizations, universities, and municipalities on Cape Ann. While there is no formal organizational structure for the entirely of the work, there have been a series of targeted collaborative efforts since 2020 and the range of issues and opportunities explored continues to expand.
Funding for projects by the CACRC has been provided by federal, state, and local governments and private donations and supplemented by substantial in-kind contributions by local organizations and volunteers.
The Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD) Office for Urbanization has collaborated with the Cape Ann Climate Coalition, and Water Alliance on a series of studies on extreme storm scenarios for Cape Ann, ecological restoration strategies, cultural and ethnographic studies, and has recently launched a NOAA-funded project on expanding capacity in climate finance, community engagement, governance, and gray and green infrastructure;
